Garmin City Navigator NT 2026 North America maps, covering the USA and Canada, are supplied on SD/microSD card and provide highly detailed street-level road mapping. These maps are compatible with popular Garmin Drive and nüvi car sat-navs, Garmin zumo motorcycle sat navs, and other Garmin handheld and cycling GPS devices.
Simply insert the plug-and-play SD or microSD card into your compatible Garmin GPS device, select the new map update from your Garmin’s on-screen menu, and you’re ready to use the latest Garmin maps.

City Navigator NTU North America maps come supplied on a pre-programmed microSD card with SD card adapter. These maps are compatible with a wide range of Garmin devices, including the Garmin Montana, GPSMAP, Oregon, and eTrex handheld series, as well as the complete Garmin Drive, DriveSmart, DriveLuxe, nüvi, zumo, dezl, and Camper automotive ranges.
Installation is simple: insert the microSD or SD card into your Garmin device’s SD slot, and you’re ready to use the new map.

This map will not add these features to devices that do not already support them. The 2026 North America map is primarily a road and POI database, providing the latest streets and points of interest. Installing the new map will not remove any features currently available on your device.

The Garmin City Navigator NT 2026 North America map is supplied on a microSD card inside a larger SD card adapter. To install, insert either the full-size SD card or the microSD card (depending on your device model) into your Garmin's SD card slot.
Once inserted, switch on your Garmin sat nav or GPS device and navigate to the Maps menu via the on-screen menu. Place a tick next to the description for the new North America map update. The map is now installed and ready to use.
Please note: The SD/microSD card must remain in your Garmin device at all times for the map to function. The map cannot be copied to your Garmin unit or an external hard drive. However, the same SD/microSD card can be used in multiple compatible Garmin devices, but only one device at a time.

Question: I am planning to purchase the North America SD/Micro SD card for an upcoming visit to North America. Can the SD card be updated in future or would I need to buy a newer version SD card in a few years time?
Answer: The Garmin City Navigator NT Maps of North America microSD/SD card cannot be updated. You would therefore need to purchase a newer version of the map on preprogrammed SD card in the future when you feel that the one you have is outdated.
Question: I purchased a Garmin SD Card for the City Nav North America NT Full Coverage 2025 for my 2017 Mercedes GLC300. I placed it into the SD card slot and it doesn't work? The NAV doesn't recognize the card. Any thoughts ? Is this the correct card?
Answer: The Garmin City Navigator NT 2026 Maps of North America microSD/SD card map that we sell is NOT compatible with Mercedes built-in sat navs. It is only compatible with these Garmin devices and sat navs. For a compatible Mercedes map please contact your local Mercedes automotive dealership.
Question: I have a Garmin nuvi 3598 and want to buy the USA maps. Please could you
confirm that my device is compatible? Also, do you have just USA (not Canada and Mexico) available as I do not need these.
Answer: I can confirm that the North America maps we sell are fully compatible with
the Garmin nuvi 3598.
We sell North America which includes USA, Mexico and Canada, we do not sell any of the maps separately.
Question: I have recently purchased garmin nuvi 2599 lmt-d and I'm travelling to Canada, is the map compatable with my model? Plus how do I reload the Europe map back on after visiting Canada?
Answer: I'm presuming you bought your Garmin nuvi 2599LMT-D in the UK/Europe and it is preloaded with European maps? If this is the case then your nuvi 2599 lmt-d microSD card slot will be empty.
You will simply need to purchase the Garmin City Navigator NT 2026 Maps of North America microSD/SD card (which includes Canada) and insert the North America microSD/SD card into your nuvi 2599 lmt-d microSD card slot.
It will then be case of accessing the ‘map info’ menu within your Garmin nuvi 2599 lmt-d on-screen navigation to select the maps of North America.
When you arrive in Canada and turn your nuvi 2599 lmt-d on, the GPS antenna and orbiting satellites will then determine and confirm you are in North America and thus display the Canadian maps accordingly. When you arrive back in the UK/Europe, the reverse will happen.
Question: I am planning to buy the GARMIN City Navigator North America NT, SD Card AND I need to know with certainty the card will be read by my Sat Nav device which is a Garmin Nuvi 2445LM. Can you verify for me please as I wont be able to test myself until I use it in the USA?
Answer: I can confirm with absolute certainty that that the Garmin City Navigator NT 2026 Maps of North America microSD/SD card is fully compatible with the Garmin nuvi 2445LM.
Furthermore, once you've inserted the microSD card into the Garmin nuvi 2445LM you can check that it has installed correctly by a) visiting the map info page within the menu of your Garmin nuvi 2445LM and b) by looking an address up in the USA, all before your leave the UK.
