ActiveGPS.co.uk Delivery information

We aim to dispatch your order within hours of you placing it (subject to when it is placed - no orders are dispatched at the weekend or after 4:30pm Monday to Friday) see when we send goods for delivery. We offer Worldwide deliveries on our full range of GPS systems, accessories and maps.


Please note: For UK next working day delivery, or UK Saturday delivery, orders must be received before 4:30pm (although we will endeavour to despatch orders received as late as 5.00pm) on Monday to Friday. Orders placed after 5.00pm on Friday, or on Saturday or Sunday will be despatched on Monday, unless Monday is a public holiday in England and Wales.

To help ensure your purchase from ActiveGPS reaches you in perfect condition we send the majority of orders in stiff cardboard postal boxes, or bubble wrap. This method may incur us more costs, but we like to ensure that you are happy with your purchase and it's as good as picking it off the shelf yourself. We may use recycled packaging to dispatch your order.

In addition to using postal boxes we also send ALL orders with an order value of £40.00 or more via either a tracked or a signed for postal method. This again provides peace of mind for you when buying your GPS product, accessory or map from ActiveGPS.co.uk. Some local UK services (such as Economy and Standard; typically Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class Signed For) and some International services are ONLY tracked when they reach their destination, or when a delivery has been attempted. Premium services, such as guaranteed next working day, (and some International services - often dependent upon the destination country's postal service) are tracked at various points on their journey through the postal network.

Garmin BlueChart orders only:

Garmin BlueChart orders are despatched at 3.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We need to receive your BlueChart order on those days by 1.00pm. When possible we may despatch orders received after that time. No BlueChart orders are despatched after 3.00pm and no orders are despatched on Saturday or Sunday.

Please note: While it is Royal Mail's aim to delivery Royal Mail Tracked 24 items the following working day (Royal Mail Tracked 24 Service) we have found this is not always the case. This is especially true around weekends and following Bank Holiday weekends. If you require an item to be delivered next working day please choose a Guaranteed UK Next Working Day Delivery option within our online basket. Both Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 offer a fully trackable service which also offer the recipient the option to amend the delivery while it is in the Royal Mail network.

Orders are dispatched after 5.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We do not dispatch on Saturday, Sunday or English Bank Holidays. Orders placed from late Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday will be dispatched on Monday, unless Monday is a Bank Holiday.

No delivery option offers a same day service.

At busy times we may prioritise orders for which a customer has picked our Standard, Saturday or Next Working Day options - or when we only have a sufficient quantity of product to fulfil orders for which a customer has picked a faster delivery time. At these times it may be that an FREE or Economy Delivery order will be held back. If we delay the despatch for several days we may, at our option, ultimately despatch your order using a premium delivery service (at our expense). We will always aim to ensure that a delivery time of 10 working days is the absolute maximum time for an FREE or Economy Delivery order to be delivered (counting from the first working day after you placed your order).

If you need to receive your order before our maximum 10 working day delivery time, please do not choose Economy Delivery.

Typical example of a delayed delivery when £4.29 Economy has been chosen: a customer orders a North America map over a weekend. We have six orders for the same map but only five maps are in stock. Five customers have paid for Standard or Next Day delivery. One customer has paid £4.29 Economy Delivery. We will fulfil five orders and delay sending the Economy Delivery until we receive new stock, perhaps several days later. Depending upon how close the delay is to our 10 day deadline we may use Special Delivery Next day for this order.

For ALL Delivery options:

Please bear in mind that Pre Order items can only be despatched when the manufacturer releases stock. This can take several weeks. Please bear in mind that Special Order items are NOT in stock and are only ordered by us when a customer has placed an order. We can only despatch these items when we receive the stock. This will inevitably delay despatch/delivery to you - no matter what delivery option you choose.

For ANY order placed after 5.00pm on a Friday, or any time on Saturday, or any time on Sunday, or any time on an English bank holiday, please bear in mind that your order will not be despatched any sooner than on the first working day after a weekend or bank holiday. No orders are despatched on a Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday.

Delivery FAQ's

When do you send goods for delivery?

We aim to process and despatch all orders (subject to availability) placed before 3pm on any given working day, the same day. Please note that orders areusually dispatched after 5.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We do not dispatch on Saturday, Sunday or English Bank Holidays. Orders placed from late Friday afternoon, and on Saturday and Sunday will be dispatched on Monday, unless Monday is a Bank Holiday.


How quickly could I receive my order?

This depends upon where you live, when the order is placed and which delivery option you choose.


Which countries do you deliver to?

We deliver Worldwide, and divide our delivery options into three areas: UK (United Kingdom), Europe and Rest of World.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for deliveries to the Middle East - we experience a higher than usual proportion of returned and undelivered mail to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, the Gulf States etc.

Please choose 'Rest of World' as the delivery option at our online basket. We use Royal Mail International Signed For Airmail with Tracking Number. Our standard online delivery for 'Rest of World' is £29.99 and covers item/s up to 2kg in weight but only offers insurance coverage up to £300.00. If your order is for a lightweight item we may be able to offer a lower delivery charge.

For example, for a single Garmin Map we can offer you the reduced rate of £14.99 – simply choose the 'Europe' delivery option at our online basket. For other items please contact us.

Although we will always despatch to the exact address that you supply to us this has not prevented previous orders from being returned from the above countries as 'incorrect address' or 'unknown recipient'. We do not know why this should be the case in the Middle East but we recommend that you are absolutely certain of your address – including apartment number, building name and or number, postcode and a responsible person who will accept your delivery if you are not at the delivery address.

If your order is being delivered to a reception, mail room, or site hut, you must know and trust that it will be handed over to you.

All of our deliveries require a signature. Once a delivery has been accepted we cannot be held responsible if the person signing for your order does not hand it over to you. If it has been accepted at your advised delivery address and you do not have the package then you will need to contact your local Police or onsite security. We will assist you with proof of delivery.

We do not usually despatch to a mail box/PO Box but we understand that at some locations you may have no option. You must ensure that a mail box/PO Box is at an attended secure location where a signature will be obtained and the goods handed to you.

Most importantly, we will e-mail you with your tracking number when your order is despatched. If a delivery is attempted you SHOULD receive an advisory card. However, this does not always appear to happen, so you will need to be pro-active and ask at your local delivery office/Post Office – always quoting your unique tracking number. We suggest that if nothing has been received within 10 days that you begin to enquire locally.

Packages which are not collected (even if the local delivery service has not contacted you) will be returned to ActiveGPS. If you decide to cancel your order we will not refund a delivery charge if your order has been dispatched and delivery has been attempted and/or it has been returned to us. If you want a second delivery attempt we may need to ask you to pay for a second delivery.

Finally, your local Customs or Tax office may be withholding delivery pending payment of any import taxes.


How much does delivery cost?

For UK orders delivery costs start at £4.29 (for Econony 2-4 day delivery), although we offer a FREE UK delivery option when customers spend £40.00 or more and go up to £29.99 (for Saturday before 9am delivery). See UK delivery options for further details

For European orders delivery is £14.99, while the Rest of World is £29.99. Please note: When ordering outside of the UK, we may (depending on the weight/size of the order) be able to offer a reduced postage rate? If you have chosen a single lightweight item you may wish to e-mail us. See Europe and Rest of World delivery service for further details.


Do I need to sign for my delivery?

The vast majority of orders over the value of £40.00 will require a signature upon receipt of the goods. However, there are exceptions to this, for example if you have chosen Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 delivery method these may not require a signature. Particularly if you advise us via email of a safe place for Royal Mail to leave your parcel in your absence.

UK Delivery important information

Royal Mail Special/Recorded Delivery

Royal Mail Special Delivery is guaranteed for next working day before 1pm (except the locations/postcodes listed below), for orders placed before 3pm (subject to stock availability). Royal Mail Tracked 24 and 48, it is Royal Mail's aim to deliver the next working days or within 2 day respectively. Royal Mail 1st class Recorded Delivery can arrive next day but this is not a guaranteed service. If you specifically require Next Day delivery for a lower value item please choose Next Day options. Orders placed before 4.30pm on a Friday, and which we would normally send by Special Delivery, will be guaranteed a delivery on Monday. They MAY still arrive on a Saturday but if you need a guaranteed Saturday delivery we will charge £19.99.

Your purchased item(s) will be received during working hours if sent to a business. Home deliveries may be attempted early in the morning e.g. 0645. In the event that no one is available to sign for the order, your goods will then be held at your local collection office. If you do not collect a Recorded Delivery item it will be returned to us after one week. If you do not collect a Special Delivery item it will be retained at your local delivery office for 15 working days. If you subsequently cancel your order we will not refund any money until we receive the item. It is in your interests to contact Royal Mail to advise them that you do not want a Special Delivery item. They will not act upon our instructions.

Goods not signed for will be then held at your local Royal Mail collection office - at the time of the unsuccessful delivery of your order, Royal Mail will leave a card providing collection details. Goods will be held for a disclosed length of time. After this time your purchase will then be returned to ActiveGPS.co.uk. We retain records of all purchases and returns. All orders are individually weighed before dispatch. Royal Mail will not consider a Recorded Delivery item is lost until 15 working days have elapsed. We must submit a claim and when We have received a refund from Royal Mail we will refund You. In any instance of loss You agree to co-operate with Royal Mail if they contact You. If we dispatch your order to the address given by you when ordering and your order is returned as undelivered and you subsequently cancel your order we will not refund the delivery charge.

Europe and Worldwide Delivery important information

If you are not in the UK and are unsure of your location please e-mail us, or use the online form on our contact us page for additional postage costs - we always use Royal Mail 'International Signed For' Insured Airmail Priority Handling service.

‣Deliveries to Europe, including Republic of Ireland, usually take 3-5 days.
‣Deliveries to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Middle East, Canada* and USA usually take 5-10 days.

Once a package has left the United Kingdom neither we nor Royal Mail have any control over the delivery service of your country. Royal Mail will not consider an overseas item as lost until 25 days have elapsed.

*CANADA: Please be aware that Royal Mail are currently advising us that international deliveries to addresses in Canada are subject to lengthy delays at Canadian Customs. We are advised that a delay of at least SIX weeks can be expected. This is using the expedited airmail tracked and signed for service. Delays to Canada are totally beyond our control. If you have an urgent need you may wish to consider placing an order at least two months before you require the goods.

Please note: - other than BFPO locations please do NOT choose UK delivery options for delivery to any address outside the UK (United Kingdom).

We dispatch to Europe (this also includes the Republic of Ireland) at £14.99* using Royal Mail International Signed For Priority Handling Insured Airmail service. Unfortunately Royal Mail cannot deliver to the Irish Republic using any internal UK services such as Recorded or Special Delivery. Delivery time is usually 3-5 days.

We dispatch to Canada, USA,  South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Deliveries to any of these countries attracts a standard charge of £29.99*. We use Royal Mail International Signed For Priority Handling Insured Airmail service. >Delivery time is usually 5-10 days. If you order a single lightweight item (such as mapping software) we may be able to reduce this charge. Please contact us but bear in mind this may delay your order as we will need to weigh and measure the item to assess charges. If we dispatch your order to the address given by you when ordering and your order is returned as undelivered and you subsequently cancel your order we will not refund the delivery charge. Royal Mail will not consider an overseas delivery as being lost until 25 days have elapsed since dispatch.

*Please note that the maximum permissible weight for Royal Mail International Signed For Priority Handling Insured Airmail service is 2Kg. It is very rare for an order to exceed this weight, even with multiple items. However, there are a few products that do weigh more than 2Kg and we have highlighted these on the relevant webpages. We reserve the right to request an additional payment if your order exceeds 2Kg.

Customs Charges

We cannot be held responsible for any customs charges levied when goods enter your country. Your goods are insured against loss or damage and we must therefore enter the correct value on the customs declaration.
