The Mio MiVue 956W records 4K 2160p footage at 30fps with HDR (or 2.5K 1440p at 60fps for smoother playback of fast-moving events), using an 8-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor, an F2.0 aperture and a 140-degree wide-angle lens, all viewed on a 2.7-inch IPS screen.
Footage is saved in Mio's SuperMP4 (H.265) format, which keeps 4K file sizes manageable but does require a playback device that supports HEVC decoding.
Integrated Wi-Fi with QR code pairing makes connecting to the MiVue Pro app quick and password-free, while integrated GPS provides Safety Camera Warnings and Average Speedcam Alert as you drive.
The MiVue 956W can be paired with the optional MiVue SmartBox IV (sold separately) to add 2-in-1 Parking Mode, and uses a built-in SuperCap in place of a battery for greater temperature resistance.

The Mio MiVue 956W is the 4K flagship of Mio's single-camera dash cam range, built around an 8-megapixel sensor for footage with far greater detail than a standard Full HD dash cam.
Recording quality is 4K 2160p at 30fps with HDR, or 2.5K 1440p at 60fps if you prefer smoother slow-motion-style playback of fast events, both via an F2.0 aperture and a 140-degree wide-angle lens.
Parking Mode is available as an option: pairing the MiVue 956W with the optional MiVue SmartBox IV (sold separately) enables 2-in-1 Parking Mode for round-the-clock protection while your vehicle is left unattended.
A 3-axis G-sensor automatically detects impacts and protects the relevant footage from being overwritten by continuous recording.
The Mio MiVue 956W microSD card should be Class U3 or V30 (or above), up to 256GB. A microSD card is not included in the box.
The Mio MiVue 956W records in 4K, four times the resolution of Full HD. Every number plate, road sign and passing detail can be enlarged and remains clearly visible, giving you footage you can genuinely rely on.
HDR recording automatically blends multiple exposures of the same frame, producing brighter, sharper images with reduced noise, particularly useful when driving between bright sunlight and shaded or tunnel sections.
The Mio MiVue 956W calculates your remaining time, distance and average speed as you pass through an average-speed camera zone, helping you stay within the limit for the whole stretch of road.
Please note: Safety camera database excludes France, Germany, Switzerland and Turkey.
Simply scan the QR code shown on the MiVue 956W's screen with your smartphone to connect to the MiVue Pro app in one step, with no password to remember. This also allows over-the-air firmware and safety camera database updates without removing the memory card.

The Mio MiVue 956W mounts behind the rearview mirror using the supplied angle-adjustable QuickClick dock, keeping the camera discreet and out of your eyeline. Power is provided via the supplied in-vehicle charger and 3M mount. The optional MiVue SmartBox IV (sold separately, not included) can be fitted to enable Parking Mode.
There is no microSD card in the box. You will therefore need to buy a microSD card separately.
The MiVue Pro App is designed for use with the Mio MiVue 956W. You can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once installed on your compatible smartphone, simply scan the QR code shown on the MiVue 956W's screen to connect via integrated Wi-Fi for fast, cable-free transfers of your videos.
When an incident happens, the Mio MiVue 956W automatically saves the file to the event folder and sends footage to the MiVue Pro app in real-time via Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi video backup uses point-to-point transmission technology, so it will not consume your 3G, 4G or 5G data).
Change the settings and format the memory card of the Mio MiVue 956W directly through your smartphone. You can also use your compatible smartphone to download and update the firmware, speed camera data and voice versions without having to remove the memory card (downloading data will use your mobile data allowance). Please note: the update settings may vary depending on the different Mio dash cam models.
In place of a traditional battery, the Mio MiVue 956W uses a built-in SuperCap. This is more resistant to temperature extremes than a standard lithium battery, and protects your last recording if power to the dash cam is suddenly cut.
