Large vs Small Garmin Carrying Case

A smaller version of this soft carry case is also available (pictured below right). However, in our experience, the smaller case is too compact for larger devices such as the 4-inch screen Montana and Monterra series.

The smaller case is better suited to more compact Garmin handheld GPS units, including the 3-inch screen Oregon and 2.6-inch screen eTrex series. If you’re unsure which case is right for your device, please contact us for advice.

Garmin Handheld Large Carrying Case Questions and Answers

Question: Is the GPS66S a snug fit in this case or is it a loose fit? Any internal dimensions? Is the case padded at all? Is this belt fastening just a fixed loop or does it use a velcro fastening ?

Answer: The Garmin GPS, GPSMAP, Montana Handheld Large Carrying Case is designed to fit the Garmin GPSMAP 66s among other Garmin GPSMAP handheld models.

The case has some padding. The belt fastening is stitched at the top and the bottom, meaning you will need to thread your belt through. We do not have the internal dimensions of the case.

Question: The carry case for the Garmin GPSMap 62S - does it have any place for spare SD cards? As Garmin do not allow you to transfer multiple maps to one card, I need to carry several cards around with the unit, and I hoped this case might do the job.

Answer: I'm afraid the official Garmin handheld carry case doesn't have a pocket for SD card(s).
