Garmin GPSMAP 79s marine GPS handheld is perfect for use on the water. Featuring a 3-inch Transflective, 65,000 colour TFT display and a 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass shows your heading - even while the boat is standing still.

The Garmin GPSMAP 79s provides more memory than previous models e.g. Garmin GPSMAP 78s means you can save and track 10,000 waypoints, 250 routes and 300 fitness activity file sand supports paperless geocaching using GPX files.

In addition, the GPSMAP 79s ultilises multiple satellite constellations including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and SBAS. The result you receive accurate, reliable tracking and positioning around the world.

The Garmin GPSMAP 79s is fogproof, waterproof to a water rating of IPX7, and what's more it also floats on water too.

The Garmin GPSMAP 79s is powered via 2 AA batteries (not included) providing you with up to 19 hours of battery life in GPS mode.

New for late 2021, the Garmin GPSMAP 79s is a premium marine handheld GPS device designed for use on water. Slim and lightweight, its dimensions are 67mm wide, 174mm in height and 42mm deep and features a transflective 65K TFT colour 3-inch diagonal sized screen. The Garmin GPSMAP 79s is powered via 2x AA batteries or NiMH or Lithium battery (batteries not included) with a battery life of 19 hours in GPS mode.

The GPSMAP 79s marine handheld is not only waterproof to IPX 7 standards but also float on water. Additionally the GPSMAP 79s SD/microSD card slot is located inside the water-tight battery compartment so you can add more mapping capabilities to the device without being concerned about water damage.

The Garmin GPSMAP 79s utlises multiple satellite constellations including GPS (Global Positioning System), GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System), GALILEO (European Space Agency), QZSS (Quasi-Zenith Satellite System) and SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation Systems).
