UK and European street-level mapping is preloaded to the Garmin DriveSmart 86. In addition Garmin Live Traffic (when paired with a compatible smartphone and using the Garmin Drive App) is available to help you avoid roadworks' and road traffic accidents, redirecting you around delayed traffic. Ready to use straight from the box, the vehicle power cable and suction cup mount are both included.

We sell two versions of the Garmin DriveSmart 86 the difference between the two is that one (Product Code: GDS86A) additionaly includes built-in Amazon Alexa. With Alexa built-in, you can ask to play music, listen to audiobooks, hear the news and more - all while you keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road (Alexa-enabled version only, available only in English and German languages). The Garmin DriveSmart 86 satnav is road trip ready with TripAdvisor traveller ratings and millions of Foursquare POI's (hotels, restauarants and attractions along you route and near your destination). Up Ahead feature also provides food, fuel and other milestones (e.g. upcoming cities, etc.)

You have the option to download the Garmin Drive app that gives you real-time information displayed right along the side of your navigation screen such as live parking, weather conditions, text messages and other notifications from your phone.

High-quality Garmin City Navigator series mapping provides clear maps for simple navigation to the inputted destination especially with the latest screen WSVGA colour TFT with white backlight which uses the latest technology for clear mapping and onscreen directions. You can add additional country mapping or update the existing European maps anytime you desire (e.g. North America, Australia, South Africa and more). Type in addresses to find destination and find millions of POIs. If you misspell you are provided with suggestions that are similar to what you are typing which may be what you are intending to type so exact match searches are not essential.

Installation

The Garmin DriveSmart 86 includes everything you need to mount and install it in your car. Included when you purchase from ActiveGPS is a suction cup mount to make installing and removing your DriveSmart 86 simple, quick and easy.

The most popular place to locate the satnav is at the bottom, middle of the windscreen where you can see the satnav easiest. Plus the satnavs dash cam will have a good view of the road ahead.

It is also possible to add a reversing camera to your vehicle with the Garmin DriveSmart 86 screen acting as a monitor. This is an optional extra. Two different Garmin Back-Up Cameras (BC) are compatible with the Garmin DriveSmart 86, these are the Garmin BC40 reversing camera and Garmin BC50 reversing cameras.

Map Coverage

Garmin DriveSmart 86 is preloaded with City Navigator NT mapping for Full Europe (UK and Ireland, Western and Eastern Europe).

These maps can be updated FREE for the life of the product, when you register your DriveSmart 86 with Garmin UK.

here maps provide high quality detailed street level maps, which in addition to street information include features such as route calculation, Points of Interest (POI), Estimated Time of Arrival, and more.

Further Garmin DriveSmart 86 maps are available on SD card which insert directly into the Garmin DriveSmart 86. Available Garmin DriveSmart 86 maps include North America, Australia and New Zealand, Middle East and Southeast Asia.
