Mio MiVue 788 is a dashboard camera featuring a premium optic sensor which will ensure great quality videos in low light conditions. This MiVue is available to buy with the A20 rear camera. The Mio 788 has a 2.7-inch touchscreen for playback and this dash cam records a 140 degree wide-view angle of the road ahead. The Mio 788 also features parking mode that will record using motion detection when your vehicle is parked.

GPS technology records location, speed, altitude, latitude and heading. GPS speed camera detection is also built in to the Mio 788 CONNECT dash cam for which the speed camera database can be updated once a month.

WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity allow you to download video to a smartphone and share on Facebook, YouTube, etc.

The Mio MiVue 788 is a dashboard camera available as a front only dash cam or front and rear dash camera. The screen is 2.7-inch touchscreen and can be used to playback videos instantly at the scene of an incident. The screen has superb contrast and clear and rich colours. Not only can you view videos recorded on the MiVue device, you can also download them to your phone using the MiVue app. You can even broadcast live on facebook.

The Pro Fit model is available to buy which includes Smart Box Power for recording in parked mode. Other additional accessories include 3M Sticky Mount and 32GB microSD.

There is also a Dual Pro Fit model which as well as the Pro Fit model accessories also includes a rear camera which is the MiVue A20 rear camera.

Add additional rear cameras or buy a rear camera for your additional cars. Buy the Mio MiVue A50 rear camera.

The design is sturdy, smart and sleek and it is small in size allowing you to stow away in the glovebox when not in use.

Connection to the Mio 788 CONNECT is via WiFi and this allows you to transfer files to your MiVue Pro smartphone app quickly and easily. Alternatively back-up and store, as well as playback on your smartphone. Broadcast to Facebook - share driving experiences. Furthermore receive over-the-air firmware and safety cam updates.

GPS overlay in Google maps provides a moving map of your vehicles route synchronised with the video when playing back on a computer. Videos stored on the SD Card are stored by type and date for faster searching.

Bluetooth connection is available too offering you safe notifications as you are driving. Sync with smartphone to display notifications on screen.

The Mio Mivue 788 menu system is intuitive with large icons.

There is a premium optic sensor that provides recording of 1080p full HD at 30fps. The apertures lens is F1.8. The recording angle is 140 degree wide angle lens. Together these technologies enable you to capture car registration plates, road signs and road markings, etc. The latest H.264 technology is included for high quality videos at a smaller file size.

The Mio 788 CONNECT will record clearly in low light conditions for good quality recordings both day and night.

You can connect to the cars power supply and then the Mio dash cam will start recording when the cars engine is turned on.

GPS technology is built-in to the Mio MiVue 788 and the dash cam device will record location, speed, altitude, longitude and heading. Unlike some dash cams the GPS technology is built-in to the dash cam.

Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features lane departure warning system, forward collision warning system and fatigue warning.

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden changes in motion or a collision and when triggered it automatically triggers emergency recording that cannot be overwritten.

A speed camera database is also available and these updates are available for the lifetime of the product. A speed alarm is also available.

The hardwire kit (MiVue Smartbox) allows the dash cam to record in parking mode for extra security.

You can buy with or without the rear-view camera. If you buy the front only dashboard camera and want to add a rear camera in the future then it is compatible with the MiVue A20 rear camera.

Installation

The Mio MiVue 788 (when purchased from ActiveGPS) includes everything you need to mount and power it in your vehicle. Simply choose a location on your windscreen and mount the windscreen mounting bracket. To power and/or charge the MiVue 788 dash cam in-car a vehicle power cable with cigarette lighter socket is included.

There is no microSD card in the box, you will therefore need to either buy a microSD card separately.

MiVue Manager Compatibility

MiVue Manager is a tool for you to view the videos recorded on your MiVue 788 recorder on a PC computer or Mac Computer. The Mio MiVue software can be downloaded from the Mio Service website.

Speed Camera Database

The Mio MiVue 788 includes free speed cameras and is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. This is separate from the MiVue Manager software and is accessible via Mio's website.

From the support webpage you simply select your Mio MiVue model name from the dropdown menu and you will see the available updates including speed cameras. You will need to load the speed cameras to a formatted SD card for use with your Mio device.

The speed camera updates are updated approximately once a month.
