Garmin Tyre Pressure Monitor System

Garmin's latest motorcycle navigators - the zumo 390, 395, 590 or 595 are both equipped with ANT+ technology a first in the zumo series. Being ANT+ enabled allows the Garmin zumo 390LM, zumo 395LM, zumo 590LM or zumo 595LM to wirelessly transfer and collect data - one such use being the ability to monitor the tyre pressure on your motorbikes tyres.

In total you can monitor up to four tyres, with one sensor being required for each tyre on your bike that you'd like to monitor.

When paired with your Garmin zumo 390LM, zumo 395LM, zumo 590LM or zumo 595LM you can monitor tyre pressure and receive low-pressure alerts via your zumo's display. A Tyre Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) screen found within the zumo 390, 395, 590 or 595 on-screen menu allows you to view the status and tyre pressure for each tyre you've fitted a valve to.

WARNING: The tyre pressure monitor system (TPMS) is for use with metal tyre valve stems only. Installation of the tyre pressure sensors on non-metal tyre valve stems may cause tyre and/or tyre valve stem damage which could result in serious personal injury or death. To read more please view the tyre pressure monitor manual.

Please note: The tyre pressure monitoring system is NOT intended for car/van use.

Using the valve(s) with your Garmin zumo

After receiving your TPMS purchase from ActiveGPS you'll need to first pair each valve with your Garmin zumo 390LM, zumo 395LM, zumo 590LM or zumo 595LM. You can view the instructions for further help with how to do this.

Contained within each valve is a BR1225 (3V) battery, this is designed to last up to 18 months and thanks to a built-in motion sensor will automatically switch to a low power mode when you're not using your bike.

Once you've installed and wirelessly paired the valve(s) with your zumo 390LM, zumo 395LM, zumo 590LM or zumo 595LM, you can view tyre pressure information via your units on-screen menus, to find and view simply select Apps > Tire Pressure.
