Garmin Europe Cycle maps on SD/microSD card enables you to select cycling, tour cycling or mountain biking options and then select the appropriate route for the type of cycling you do, taking you on paved roads, unpaved roads, or on paths and trails. These maps can be used within selected models in the popular Garmin Edge cycle range and other Garmin handheld GPS devices e.g. Garmin eTrex 20 and 30 series, Garmin GPSMAP 276Cx, Garmin Montana series and Garmin Oregon 600 and 700 series.

Simply insert the plug-and-play SD or microSD card into your compatible Garmin GPS device, select the cycle map via your Garmin's on screen menu and you're ready to use the cycling Garmin maps.

Once installed the pre-programmed SD card provides searchable points of interest (restaurants, hotels, hostels, trains stations, etc.), cities, addresses and more.

Garmin cycle map includes bike-specific maps and POIs. It provides both on-road and off-road navigation and can provide round-trip options based on a set distance. It even lets you relive and share rides through Garmin Connect and Garmin Adventures. The data SD/microSD card is only compatible with Garmin devices that provide automatic route capabilities and support cycle maps.

Garmin Europe Cycle maps come supplied on a pre-programmed microSD card with SD card adaptor, making these maps compatible with a variety of different Garmin devices including selected models in the Garmin Edge, Garmin eTrex and Garmin Montana cycle and handheld GPS range.

Installation and set up is very easy, simply insert either the microSD or SD card into your GPS devices SD slot and you're ready to go.

The Garmin Europe cycle map features map data compiled using third-party data suppliers, including the community-generated OpenStreetMap (OSM) database and here maps.

What is the Garmin Europe cycle map compatible with?

The Garmin Europe cycle map is compatible with selected Garmin handheld/outdoor GPS devices only. What's more you can use the same SD card in different compatible Garmin devices. Although not at the same time, as for copyright reasons the map cannot be downloaded or transferred.

The Garmin Europe cycle map on microSD with SD card adaptor is compatible with the following Garmin cycle and handheld GPS products:

IMPORTANT: A number of Garmin Edge models e.g. Garmin Edge 1040 DO NOT feature an SD/microSD card slot. All of the genuine Garmin maps we sell are supplied on pre-programmed microSD/SD card, therefore the maps we sell are not compatible with these Garmin Edge models. We strongly recommend that you check your Garmin Edge device has a microSD/SD card slot prior to ordering a microSD/SD card from ActiveGPS.

How to install

Garmin cycle map mapping comes supplied on a microSD inside a larger SD card adaptor. To install insert either the full size SD or microSD card (depending on model) into a your Garmin's SD card slot.

Once inserted, switch on your Garmin sat nav or GPS system and navigate via the on-screen menu to the Maps menu screen. Once there place a tick along side the description for the new Europe map update. You have successfully installed the maps and are they are ready to use.

Please note: When using the purchased map, the SD card needs to remain in your Garmin device at all times so the map can be read. The map card cannot be copied to either your Garmin unit or external hard drive. However the map SD card can be used in multiple compatible Garmin devices, but only one at a time.

Garmin Europe Cycle Map Questions and Answers

Question: I purchased the Europe SD card from you in May 2019 for my USA Garmin Edge 1030. My 1030 generally receives at least 1 or 2 USA map updates per month. Does the Europe SD card get updates? What is the procedure?

Answer: The Garmin Europe cycle map on SD/microSD card cannot be updated. The only way to update the map would be to purchase a newer version of the Garmin Europe cycle map on SD/microSD card.

Question: Will the Garmin Europe OSM cycle maps work on a Garmin 800 edge unit?

Answer: Unfortunately, the Europe cycle map is not compatible with the Garmin Edge 800. Garmin technical support confirm that the reason the Garmin Edge 800 isn't listed as being compatible is due to the age of the Garmin Edge 800. The Garmin Europe Cycle map carries a large file size and may cause the Garmin Edge 800 to run slowly.

The alternative compatible map you could consider is the Garmin City Navigator NTU Maps of Europe street-level road maps which is compatible with your Garmin Edge 800.

Question: I have Garmin Oregon 650 and I'd like to buy garmin cycling maps Europe but I see that my device is not compatible. Oregon 650 is all rounder device with microSD card slot, road cycling, mountain cycling, tour cycling options, and further more has ability to read most (if not all format maps). So my question would be - What functions would not work on Oregon 650 if I would purchase garmin cycling map of Europe from you?

Answer: Unfortunately, the cycle maps are not compatible with the Oregon range. The device would not be capable of acknowledging the data.

Question: Does the Garmin Europe Cycle Map microSD/SD card include Gran Canaria within the Spanish islands?

Answer: I can confirm that Gran Canaria is included wihtin the Garmin cycle map of Europe.
