Garmin GPS 73 and GPSMAP 78-Series Car Charger

Want to charge your Garmin GPS 73, Garmin GPSMAP 78 or Garmin GPSMAP 78s marine handheld GPS in your car, van, motorhome, etc? Then you need to buy this genuine Garmin GPS 73/GPSMAP 78 vehicle power cable designed to power your unit from your vehicles cigarette lighter socket.

Simply plug one end of the car charger into your vehicles cigarette/cigar lighter adaptor, and the other end into the mini-USB port on the back of your device and you ready to power either your Garmin GPS 73, Garmin GPSMAP 78 or GPSMAP 78s marine handheld GPS device as you drive.

How the mini USB power cable plugs into the GPSMAP 78/78s

On the back of of the GPSMAP 78/78s there are two main power connectors (as pictured below) - these are highlight by 1 and 2.

The mini USB cable which is available to buy on this webpage plugs directly into the mini USB connecton 2 as shown in the image below.

An alternative serial vehicle power cable that plugs into connector 1 is also available, as is a hardwire power/data cable that plugs into the same port.

Optional Street-level road maps (GPSMAP 78 series ONLY)

If you'd like to add street-level road maps to your Garmin GPSMAP 78 or 78s handheld device you can do just that by buying and installing Garmin City Navigator NT maps.

The maps come preloaded on microSD card together with a SD card adaptor. Simply insert the SD card into your Garmin GPSMAP 78 or Garmin GPSMAP 78s and drive, walk or ride with the latest street-level sat nav maps.

Dash Mounting

Do you want to mount your Garmin GPS 73 or Garmin GPSMAP 78 series GPS handheld in your vehicle?

Separately available is a Garmin GPS 73 / GPSMAP 78 vehicle dash mount that enables you to do just that. The mount uses an adhesive base to be sited on your car, van, motorhome, etc, dashboard, while a cradle holds your GPS 73 or GPSMAP 78/78s securely in place.
