ECHOMAP models combine a chartplotter with a built-in fishfinder sonar in one unit, adding CHIRP, ClearVu and SideVu scanning to help you find fish as well as navigate. Every ECHOMAP model includes built-in CHIRP sonar and ClearVu scanning as standard. Models with "sv" in the name also add SideVu scanning; "cv" models do not.
Chartplotter sonar features explained
CHIRP - CHIRP sonar sends a continuous sweep of frequencies rather than a single one, giving a clearer picture of fish, structure and the seabed below your boat.
ClearVu - ClearVu is the Garmin scanning sonar that gives a clear, photo-like view of the water directly below your boat.
SideVu - SideVu is the Garmin scanning sonar that gives a clear, photo-like view of the water to the sides of your boat.

Q. Are GPSMAP chartplotters compatible with radar?
A. Yes, all current GPSMAP models (1223, 1222, 1022, 923 and 723) support Garmin radar units. ECHOMAP models are not radar compatible.
Q. What is the difference between ECHOMAP "sv" and "cv" models?
A. Models with "sv" in the name (e.g. UHD2 75sv) include both ClearVu and SideVu scanning sonar. Models with "cv" in the name (e.g. UHD2 75cv, UHD2 55cv, Plus 45cv) include ClearVu scanning sonar only, without SideVu.
