Garmin GPSMAP 1223 chartplotters features a 12.1-inch colour windscreen touchscreen display and comes preloaded with a worldwide basemap.The Garmin GPSMAP 1223 features a high-sensitivity internal 10Hx GPS/GLONASS that will update your position and heading 10 times per second. Using ActiveCaptain App and Wi-Fi you can also connect with a smartphone or tablet.

The Garmin GPSMAP 1223 comprises of three models;

1. Garmin GPSMAP 1223 (no sounder/sonar capability)
2. Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv
3. Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv with GMR18HD 18 Radome

Only the Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv models feature Garmin CHIRP SideVu, CHIRP ClearVu and CHIRP traditional sonar. To take advantage of Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv sounder/sonar features you will need to additionally purchase a compatible Garmin transducer separately.

We offer UK, Europe and Worldwide deliveries. We despatch orders at 4:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We need to receive your order on those days by 3:00pm. The Garmin GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv chartplotters both feature a 12.1-inch colour touchscreen display. You can save 5,000 accurate waypoints and navigate back to them quickly and easily. Waypoints, tracks and frequently used routes can be transferred too and the Garmin chartplotter allows the transfer of industry-standard GPX software formatted data files.

The Garmin GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv models are preloaded with a worldwide basemap. Additional detailed Garmin Bluechart g3 marine charts on pre-programmed microSD/SD card can also be purhcased from ActiveGPS. The very best and latest charts, named BlueChart g3 Vision include premium features such as high resolution satellite imagery of harbours, ports, etc, auto guidance, MarinerEye - keep an eye on 3D information above the waterline and FishEye - provides 3D information below the waterline.

Built-in sonar capabilities come as standard with the Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv models only. The Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv model includes Garmin CHIRP SideVu, CHIRP ClearVu and CHIRP traditional sonar. All three Garmin GPSMAP 1223 chartplotters also supports Panoptix all-seeing sonar, premium Garmin sonar and a wide range of transducers (sold separately). For customers who purchase the Garmin GPSMAP 1223 (without sonar), it is possible to add sonar capabilities at a later date with the additional purchase of a Garmin external black box.

Ultra High-Definition Scanning Sonar (Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv models ONLY)

Get built-in Ultra High-Definition SideVu and ClearVu scanning sonars with vivid, high-contrast colour palettes to help distinguish fish from structure when purchasing and pairing the Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv models only with a compatible Garmin transducer. GPSMAP 1223xsv also supports 1 kW CHIRP traditional sonar capabilities.

Built-in WiFi connectivity enables control of the Garmin chartplotter using BlueChart Mobile 2.0 app or Garmin ActiveCaptain app whereby connectivity pairs with the free all-in-one mobile app for access to the OneChart feature, smart notifications, software updates, Garmin Helm, Garmin Quickdraw Community data and more.

You can share sonar, maps, user data, dome or open-array radar, IP cameras and Panoptix sonar.

Heading and position is refreshed on screen 10 times per second enabling fluid viewing of your boat or yacht GPS position. There is a high-sensitivity, fast, responsive 10Hz GPS and GLONASS receiver. The GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv chartplotters also features NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity.

Garmin SailAssist sailing features enables you to view laylines, race start line guidance, enhanced wind rose, heading and course-over-ground lines, true wind data fields and tide/current/time slider, wind angle, set and drift, wind speed and more.

Built-in ANT connectivity enables connection with some of your favourite devices, such as the Garmin quatix 5 marine watch, Garmin gWind Wireless 2 transducers, Garmin GNX Windmarine instruments and wireless remote controls including the Garmin GRID 20 Remote Input Device.

The Garmin GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv features J1939 connectivity. J1939 connectivity enables you to connect the Garmin GPSMAP 1223 or GPSMAP 1223xsv chartplotter to different kinds of engines, including Yamaha engines. Installation

When you purchase the Garmin GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv from ActiveGPS.co.uk a bail mount and flush mount kit are included in the box. These mounting options enable you to mount the GPSMAP 1223/1223xsv chartplotter against most flat surfaces on your boat. A power cable is also included. When purchasing the Garmin GPSMAP 1223xsv additional 8-pin transducer to 12-pin sounder adapter cable is included for connection to a compatible transducer (sold separately).

Chart Coverage

Garmin GPSMAP 1223 and GPSMAP 1223xsv marine chartplotters are preloaded with a worldwide basemap. The worldwide basemap is a non-detailed map for general reference.

To add marine charts to the Garmin GPMAP 1223/1223xsv requires the purchase of a Garmin BlueChart g3 title. With lots of different charts avialable you can find the perfect Garmin Bluechart for the area of water you will be using the Garmin GPSMAP 1223 or 1223xsv chartplotter. Three different chart and chart sizes are shown below. The first covers a small area or water (small chart), the second a slightly larger area of water (regular chart), while the third shows the largest chart size (large chart) Garmin produce.
