Mio MiVue 688 is a dashboard camera featuring a High Quality Sony optic sensor which will ensure great quality videos in low light conditions. The Mio 688 has a screen for playback and this dash cam records a 140 degree wide-view angle of the road ahead. The Mio 688 also features parking mode that will record using motion detection when your vehicle is parked.
GPS technology records location, speed, altitude, latitude and heading. GPS speed camera detection is also built in to the Mio 688 dash cam for which the speed camera database can be updated once a month.
The mount for the Mio 698 rotates so you will always get the angle you want to record from by simply rotating the mount.

Mio MiVue 688 includes a high quality Sony optic sensor for excellent recording in low light conditions. The front dash cam features a screen on the front dash cam for instant playback of videos. The dash cam records in 1080p Full HD. The F1.8 lens on the dash camera will offer great recording quality in low light conditions. There is a wide-viewing angle for recording the road of 140 degrees.
Speed camera updates are included for the lifetime of the product which can be updated once a month. The speed camera database excludes France, Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
GPS tracking capabilities record GPS location, speed, altitude, latitude and heading. In addition the route tracking allows you to view your route taken on Google Maps syncronised with the playback of the video so you will always know the GPS location of all videos recorded.
Parking mode is used to record when your vehicle is parked. The Mio 688 uses motion detection to start recording when parked and will automatically stop recording after movement in front of the camera has stopped. This protects your vehicle as you will always know who has been near your vehicle.
There is a 3-axis G-Sensor that detects G-Forces and then when a large G-Force is detected the video will be saved at the time of the event. All G-Forces are recorded showing the direction and force of all impacts and G-Forces throughout your journey are syncronised with video playback on a computer use the Mio MiVue Manager software.
Photo mode will enable you to take photos with the Mio 688. The GPS coordinates will be included with the photos so you know the exact location of where all photos were taken.
As well as a speed camera database the Mio 688 warns you when you are driving above the speed limit. Furthermore lane departure mode sounds an alert if you drift away from the centre of your lane.
Rotating Mount Design captures the view, from any angle, of the view of the road ahead. Simply rotate the device to capture whichever angle of direction you choose.
The Mio MiVue Manager software allows you to share videos on YouTube and Facebook. Track your routes taken using the the GPS receiver technology and play video with tracks on Google Maps.

Because the Mio MiVue 688 has an internal rechargable battery you can choose to locate it cable-free behind the rear view mirror, which also helps to ensure the highest quality recordings and does not obstruct your view of the road ahead. Alternatively, you can use the included car charger to power the in car camera device. A windscreen mounting bracket is also provided.
MiVue Manager is a tool for you to view the videos recorded on your MiVue 688 recorder on a PC computer or Mac Computer. The Mio MiVue software can be downloaded from the Mio Service website.

The Mio MiVue 688 includes free speed cameras and is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. This is separate from the MiVue Manager software and is accessible via Mio's website.
From the support webpage you simply select your Mio MiVue model name from the dropdown menu and you will see the available updates including speed cameras. You will need to load the speed cameras to a formatted SD card for use with your Mio device.
The speed camera updates are updated approximately once a month.
