Q. What is the difference between the LVS32 TH, PS51-TH FrontVu and PS30-TM Transom?

A. The LVS32 TH is thru-hull mounted with LiveVu Down and LiveVu Forward. The PS51-TH FrontVu is also thru-hull mounted but dedicated to FrontVu forward-looking sonar. The PS30-TM Transom is transom-mounted and adds RealVu 3D Down, RealVu 3D Historical and LiveVu Down, with its mount included.


Q. Which Panoptix transducer is best for forward-looking sonar?

A. The PS51-TH FrontVu is built specifically for FrontVu forward-looking sonar for grounding avoidance. The LVS32 TH offers LiveVu Forward instead; the PS30-TM Transom does not support forward-looking views.


Q. Do Panoptix transducers need an independent power connection?

A. The PS51-TH FrontVu and PS30-TM Transom both need an independent power connection. The LVS32 TH does not, drawing power through the Garmin Marine network.


Q. Which Panoptix transducer comes with its mount included?

A. Only the PS30-TM Transom Mount ships with its transom mount included. The PS51-TH FrontVu ships with a thru-hull mount and fairing block; the LVS32 TH uses a thru-hull mount without a fairing block.


Q. What operating frequency do these transducers use?

A. The LVS32 TH operates across 530-1,100kHz. The PS51-TH FrontVu and PS30-TM Transom both operate at 417kHz.
