Spot Gen3 is a satellite tracking and messaging service that allows you to keep in contact with friends, family to let them track your adventure on Google Maps. Plus, if necessary, at the touch of the SOS button SPOT 3 will alert the emergency services. The Spot Gen3 will work when out of range of the mobile phone network is built to be rugged and lightweight and features loops making it easy to carry. All these features make it perfect for outdoor adventures.

The Spot Gen3 is also Waterproof to IPX7 standards. The battery life on this new Spot Gen3 is also twice that as compared with the previous Spot2 satellite tracker.

Subscription charges apply. Depending on the payment plan you choose, SPOT 3 will send your position every 2.5 minutes. See below for payment options.

Deliveries

We offer UK, Europe and Worldwide deliveries. We despatch orders at 5.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We need to receive your order on those days by 4.30pm. When possible we may despatch orders received after that time. No orders are despatched after 5.30pm and no orders are despatched on Saturday or Sunday.

The Spot Gen3 works with the GPS satellite network so that you can keep in contact with friends, family and, if necessary, emergency services where mobile phone networks fail to operate. Not only can you send tracking information to friends, family and emergency services but you can also send messages to them too. You can sent custom messages to friends and family or just let them know you are okay. Plus you can also send SOS messages to the emergency services. You can even select how your messages are received either by email, text message, etc.

Send GPS location and messages

The buttons on the Spot Gen3 are large to make for easy use. Two of the buttons on the Spot Gen3 are used for sending your GPS location to friends and family; there is a custom button that sends a pre-programmed message and your GPS location and then there is a check in button that let’s people know you are okay and your GPS position. Additionally a free app also enables you to connect your mobile phone to the Spot Gen3 to send messages along your journey. On a single charge with the lithium batteries you can send 1,250 check in and custom messages.

Tracking

There is a track button that enables contacts to send and save your location to track your progress on Google Maps.

With the correct payment plan the Spot Gen3 can alter the custom tracking rate between 2.5, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes (read more about payment plans below). Furthermore the tracking feature can also be set to detect motion so that a signal is only sent when you are moving, conserving battery power.

SOS Emergency

In the event of an emergency you can press the SOS emergency alert button. When pressed it sends an SOS and your GPS location to GEOS whom then organises a search and rescue.

Temperature and altitude limitations

The Spot Gen3 can be used in many different environments and can operate from a temperature of -30C to 60C (-22F to 140F) and can operate in altitudes from -100m to +6,500m (-328ft to +21,320ft).

SPOT Gen3 Coverage

SPOT 3 works around the world, including virtually all of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia, portions of South America, Northern Africa, and North-Eastern Asia and hundreds or thousands of miles offshore of these areas. In Russia, the GPS accuracy of your SPOT 3 is limited (degraded) in accordance with Russian regulations restricting the accuracy of GPS performance for devices utilised in Russia.

SPOT Gen3 Subscriptions

To get the Spot Gen3 working you must buy the basic service and tracking. This is priced at 138 euros per year and includes unlimited custom, check in, tracking, help and SOS messages. Your position will be transmitted every 10 minutes for 24 hours.

You may like to get the enhanced tracking services which allow you to send your GPS coordinates every 5, 10, 30 and 60 minutes. Plus this service will last longer than 24 hours. This service is priced at 39 euros for a year.

Alternatively, for 99 euros per year you can get all the features above but also track your position every 2.5 minutes.

To use the emergency button you will need to pay 11 euros per year and you will get cover for up to $100K.

Updates to this product are via the internet. At this product page we state compatibility with specific versions of current internet connection devices, for example: PC, laptop, MAC, smartphone etc. The Consumer Contract Regulations allow you 14 days, from receipt of purchase, to check compatibility with your internet connection device/s. If you choose to replace or update your PC, MAC etc. neither we nor the manufacturer will be responsible if the new/replacement Operating System (OS) is not compatible with the purchased product.
