Garmin zumo 345LM is a motorcycle satnav with a 4.3-inch screen. Western European maps are provided for the Lifetime of the zumo 345LM and this also includes the latest Points of Interest (POI's). The zumo 345LM will guide you using voice instructions and will also refer to noticeable landmarks, traffic lights, etc. when informing you where to turn.

PhotoReal Junction View uses images of busy dual carriageway and motorway junctions to get you in the correct lane at junctions and intersections. You can also set the device to use particular types of roads when providing you with directions such as twisty roads, curvy roads or terrain hugging roads, etc.

You can also get real-time access to Weather Radar and Traffic Information via subscription.

The Garmin zumo 345LM is a motorcycle sat nav that can also be used in a car (car mount and car charger sold separately). The zumo 345 is glove-friendly for easy operation on a motorcycle and furthermore has a 4.3-inch, touchscreen, transflective screen making it readable in bright sunlight. The unit can also be used in dual orientation (either landscape or portrait).

Western European mapping and Lifetime map updates are included with the zumo 345LM. You can also sync the zumo to a smartphone, MP3 Player or Bluetooth-enabled headset or helmet (sold separately). Using the sync-feature means you can make handsfree calls and receive smart notifications such as texts and app alerts which will be displayed on screen.

If you would like to buy a Garmin zumo with Full European mapping then please consider buying the Gamrin zumo 395LM or Garmin zumo 396LMT-S instead. This model also includes a car mount and car vehicle power.

Guidance from the Garmin zumo 345LM is provided by using recognisable landmarks. Garmin Real Directions provides spoken turn by turn directions that speaks street names, buildings and traffic lights so you can identify where exactly you should be turning.

Foursquare database is also included with the Garmin zumo 345LM which includes millions of new and popular places to explore.

PhotoReal Junction View provides realistic views of junctions, interchanges and complex interchanges on dual-carriageway and motorway junctions. A bright coloured arrow to inform you which lane to get in. TracBack feature also is available to route you along the same route in reverse.

There are also Rider specific features on the Garmin Zumo 345LM such as Garmin Adventurous Routing for finding twisty, curvy, terrain hugging or hilly roads. You can also limit the use of Major roads. Included with the maps are points of interest such as petrol stations. Rider alerts are also provided for sharp curves, railway crossings, speed cameras, red light cameras and more.

Keep track of weather conditions and road congestion using live weather radar and traffic information (subscription costs apply). LiveTrack also lets friends and family track you current location.

Stay aware and ride safer knowing speed limit changes, school zones, when you are going the wrong way up a one way street, where red light cameras are and get speed camera warning too with the Garmin Zumo 345LM. Fatigue warning on long journeys will also suggest rest areas after a certain interval of time.

Up ahead feature will suggest places of interest and milestones along your route
(without leaving map view on navigation display). Plus Easy Route Shaping enables you to add points on the map to adjust your route or ride through preferred areas or follow specific roads making it easy to customise your ride/route.

There is a built-in trip computer with a digital fuel gauge so you can estimate how many miles you can ride before an empty tank. Dynamic fuel stop alerts are also provided to refuel and locate petrol station locations. Speed limit indicator also helps you keep track of the speed limit and digital compass displays direction heading. There is also a database of motorcycle-specific points of interest (POI) such as dealers and repair service shops. Service History Log are also stored (dates, mileage and performed maintenance on your bike).

Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensors (TPMS) are compatible with the Garmin zumo 345LM. One TPMS is required per tyre which works with metal valve stems only. You can then view in real-time the tyre pressure of each tyre.

Zumo 345LM is compatible with the Garmin VIRB series of HD action cameras (sold separately) whereby you can remotely control the VIRB - start and stop recoding - from the Garmin Zumos display.

Garmin Express allows you to download Maps, Software, Transfer favourites, custom vehicles and custom voices.

Go off-road with Topo Maps

The Garmin 345LM is also compatible with Garmin TOPO maps. This allows you to view 3-D terrain whilst riding along your journey. The 345LM also has a TracBack feature that enables you to navigate back along the same route you have taken to where you started.

Cyclops Speed Camera Alerts

The Garmin zumo 345, like all Garmin sat nav's, gets its speed camera data from the Cyclops speed camera database. The database provides advanced alerts to fixed, average speed, mobile, variable, temporary roadwork, red light and red light speed cameras. As you approach a camera, your device sounds an alert. Installation

On bike installation

The Garmin zumo 345LM includes everything you need to mount and install it on the handlebar of most motorbikes. Included when you purchase from ActiveGPS is a RAM mount designed to attach onto the handlebar of your motorcycle. Once this is fitted, a unique zumo 345 motorcycle mount cradle and motorcycle power cable which is also included can be fitted to the RAM mount. You're then ready to ride with the Garmin zumo 345.

In-car installation

The Garmin zumo 345LM includes the necessary fixings and fitting to mount on your motorbike. You can also buy separately an optional car mount and car charger to enable you to use the zumo 345LM in a car.

Map Coverage

Garmin zumo 345LM is preloaded with City Navigator NT for the UK, Ireland and Western Europe provided by here mapping.

These maps can be updated FREE for the life of the product, when you register your zumo 345LM with Garmin UK.

Garmin zumo 345LM Questions and Answers

Question: Can a Garmin zumo 345LM be powered correctly via a cradle for a BMW Navigator "Street" Sat Nav unit? They are essentially the same unit but Garmin either don't know or don't want to tell me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Answer: BMW Navigator models e.g. Navigator V, are based upon the Garmin zumo 660. The Garmin zumo 300 series and zumo 600 do not share the same mounting or powering options. Therefore a Garmin zumo 345LM cannot be powered via a BMW Navigator sat nav cradle.

Question: At Christmas I gave my husband a Garmin Zumo 345 to replace his very elderly and well used Zumo 400.

He has successfully mounted the Zumo 345 to his motorcycle. Wishing to also the new Zumo 345 in the car we are having difficulty in identifying which components we need to source in order to achieve this.

From your website I would assume that we would require a 'power cable' - possibly Garmin zumo 345lm Vehicle Power cable or similar.

We already have a Garmin non-skid base with ball joint. So I believe that we are missing a mounting bracket for the GPS? If this is the case, is it possible to purchase this separately or do we need to buy the 'suction cup' kit?

Answer: To mount and power the Garmin zumo 345 in a car requires the purchase of the following two accessories:

1. Garmin zumo 345 Vehicle Power Cable
2. Garmin zumo 345 Suction Cup Mount

You can then use your Garmin non-skid base with ball joint with the cradle from the suction cup mount. Sorry the zumo 345 cradle is not available on its own. It only comes supplied with the suction cup mount kit.

Question: I am thinking of buying a zumo 345LM but Garmin are not clear as to whether it features a live traffic avoidance system or not. If it does is there are additional cost involved in using it?

Answer: There are two ways in which the Garmin zumo 345LM receives traffic information.

he first is via Bluetooth via a compatible paired smartphone with the Garmin zumo 345LM. While traffic subscription is free from Garmin, you will need to have or pay for data services from your mobile phone provider.

The second is via additionally purchasing the GTM 36 traffic receiver. Please note: The GTM 36 is designed for in car use with a cigarette lighter adaptor. The GTM 36 traffic receiver provides traffic information services for free (no cost from Garmin and no data charges to pay for) via the FM signal.

Question: I am planning a motorcycle trip to North and South America. I have a Garmin Zumo 345LM. I note you have SD card maps for the Americas compatible with this device. Will these maps support the winding and hilly roads feature for motorcyclists available with the zumo 345LM?

Answer: Garmin technical support have confirmed that the feature should be available for the North America and South America mapping. Both maps come supplied on two separate pre-programmed SD/microSD Cards.
